When dealing with money, transaction errors are unacceptable. A simple rounding issue, database lock, or race condition can result in financial discrepancies, requiring hours of manual auditing.

Designing for Immutability To solve this at Bytesfield, we designed LedgerSync around two primary principles: immutable double-entry book keeping and cryptographic seal verification.

Every transaction in LedgerSync requires a debited ledger account and a credited ledger account of equal value. No records are ever updated; instead, corrections are entered as new adjustment lines.

Technical Details: - **Lock-Free Concurrency**: Utilizing Postgres dynamic row partitioning to prevent account lock bottlenecks during concurrent purchases. - **Cryptographic Chaining**: Each ledger row is hashed along with the hash of the preceding record, ensuring any tamper attempt is instantly flagged. - **Microsecond Consensus**: Achieving ledger entry execution in under 5 milliseconds.

This architecture ensures a flawless, audit-ready payment core that scales alongside modern fintech companies.
